Before she started writing horror romance books, Brianna Saint Briar grew up ravenously switching between An American Werewolf in London, The Swan Princess, Tales from the Crypt, and The Little Mermaid. R.L. Stine was her gateway drug, who led to Anne Rice, who led to influences like Sierra Simone, Angela Carter, Cassandra Khaw, and Tananarive Due.
Unable to choose between her love of horror and her love of romance, Brianna weaves them together, to the delight and misery of her readers. She writes stories for readers who can’t get enough of the Gomez/Morticia vibe, who want dark stories featuring devoted couples.
Brianna is a former copy and developmental editor with an MA in English concentrating on fairytales and folklore. She published dark fantasy romance under the pen name Billie Ives with her dear friend Hannah Renfield from 2020-2022. Depression and anxiety put her writing career on hold for a few years, but she rediscovered her voice through an obnoxiously long fanfic and more writing classes than she can count. She’s working on her first solo horror-romance novel while going back to grad school to become a public librarian.
Brianna haunts her own little corner of New England with her partner and their cats. Her next novel, working title Ghost Coast, is being unearthed bit by bit and is due to be unearthed in Winter 2027.
